Cambridgeshire Police are reporting there is currently an enhanced crime pattern of theft from vehicles in City Centre car parks. When examining these crimes, Officers consider many thefts could have been prevented if valuables had not been left on display.

Please note the following advice when parking in the City Centre:
- Ensure your vehicle is locked and secure
- Vehicles with property on display are more likely to be broken into
- Remove portable sat nav devices from the vehicle and remove any evidence of a sat nav ( sucker mark of cradle left behind on windscreen)
- Remove any loose change - even a very small amount can be a temptation
- Remove coats and carrier bags - to a thief these may contain items of value
- Do not carry anything unnecessary or valuable in the boot
- Consider emptying your glove box and leaving it open
- If it can be avoided please do not return to your car with purchases to store them in the boot, and then continue shopping
- Report any suspicious activity be calling 101
